How cute am I???

In the spirit of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I thought I'd share a couple of pictures one of my favorite relatives sent to me.

The year... 1979.

The holiday... Thanksgiving.

The cutest baby in the world... Yours truly.

Yup. Most parents think their babies are the cutest in the world. Looks like my parents were right.

(These are my maternal grandparents holding me in the photos.)

I Hate the F'ing Dallas Cowboys...

But damn...

I just watched Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, and wow was it hot!

There was this one part where they were doing bootcamp workouts to get in shape, and the ones that got the highest scores on their PT test (2 min sit ups, 2 min pushups, 2 mile run. Just like the AFROTC one) got these power squad uniforms which consisted of an olive green power squad tank top and some awesome, tiny, tiny camo shorts...

And where else do you hear lines like "If I gave a uniform to everyone who wanted to wear it, this wouldn't be the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders." (Or "DCC" for those in the know.)

Of course, there were parts of the show that weren't fun, like watching the girls who got cut cry, but all the shots of them hugging each other in their little uniforms more than made up for it!

I've been bitten...

By the "I want nothing more than to live at the ocean" bug.

I happened this weekend on the aforementioned trip to the OBX.

Now, it's important to note that I've always loved the beach. We used to vacation to Nags Head every summer when I was growing up. The beach is the only place I ever want to go on vacation.

I think I've written off living at the beach as a frivilous, non-practical idea (which in fainess, it is!). The biggest difference now is that, following the Air Force letting me go, I think I may need a change. The other difference is that I'm willing to take a cut in pay and lifestyle to finance this dream.

I've quickly come to the conclusion that now's the time for me to head out and do something I want to do, rather than take the safe route with the job.

Hell, I've got no one to answer to or for but myself.

So, you might be asking how this came about.

Well, I was at the Sea Scape country club, on the porch at the club house. It was about 75 degrees outside, clear blue sky. Directly in front of me were rolling green fairways of the golf course, directly to my left I could see the ocean. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! It was beautiful... That was pretty much the moment I decided that I needed to live at the beach.

I have about 6 months or so to make up my mind as to exactly what it is I want to do. I really love the Outer Banks, but it costs a fortune. I'm also looking into Wilmington based on some recommendations. It has a lot to offer, college town, culture, the ocean... So we'll see :-)

More to follow I hope!
